City Island November-2023
November 16, 2023

Our second event was a real triumph, focusing on City Island, hosted by Ballymore at Good Luck Hope Cinema. It’s not often that a new piece of city is designed and occupied within such a short space of time, and still manages to seem like it’s been there forever. We had a brilliant panel, including a creative estuary and some of the residents who were very keen to tell us why they loved living there so much, which was pretty special coming from an Oscar-winning animator who was one of many creatives who had decided to invest and build a life here.

Delivered through a JV between Ballymore and EcoWorld with 1706 new apartments, the former brownfield site was home to the PURA refineries and sits at the mouth of the River Lee. It is now home to the English National Ballet and Arebyte Digital Arts Gallery, part of the Creative Estuary and neighbour to Trinity Buoy Trust, a collection of creative industries, studios and businesses.
